for those who need to know

A LONG LIST OF QUALMS AND WONDERS

Why should I trust you?  What if you steer me wrong?

First of all, you shouldn't trust me -- you should read my testimonials and trust the results.  I'm just a odd combination of mirror and prism you can look through to better align yourself with success.  My practice doesn't replace your personal agency over your situation, but if I do my job right, it'll provide clarity and insight to make your path much easier.

Is Tarot (or Cartomancy, or any form of Divination) real?

Tarot isn't supernatural Google (which is what folks usually mean with this question).   It's exceedingly useful as far as sorting out your feelings, relationships, or the energies around you though, often to the point that it feels extra-sensory.

Does magick exist?  Do you perform magick?  Will you hex me?

First, magick doesn't exist, but it's so powerful it doesn't need to exist to have an effect.  I always and never perform magick because I believe everything is innately magickal and magick doesn't exist.  I and my associates will only hex you if you ask very nicely because otherwise you'd probably leave a bad review.

Theories aside, does it work?

Let me zero in on just Tarot here.  It might seem odd for a reader to say, but Tarot underperforms with regards to hard facts -- for example, before you get a reading from me you have to acknowledge that I won't tell you how to trade stocks.  However, if you're running a business that's having trouble it'll give you a number of different angles to check on and things to think about.  In balance, the cards don't always answer the questions posed directly but I've yet to have a reading that didn't provide any actionable perspectives.

OK but how?

We're uncovering knowledge from our collective subconscious.  The process is purely mundane and simultaneously completely magickal (see the explanation of magick above).  In a mundane sense, I'm pulling a random set of typical events in a human's life and then we're having a conversation to match them to your situation.  In a magical sense, since you and I come to the table with intentions nothing is truly random.

Wait, I've studied a bit of mentalism.  You're cold reading me!

Openly. Did you expect that I'm doing magick?  Magick doesn't exist.

Look, you told me you approached this from this kinda pseudopsychological non-spiritual way but everything has been coming true and I don't know what to think and can you tell me how to find true love and fulfillment and everything good?

Magick is effective.  No.

Pleeeeeeeeeaseeee

You have to uncover your Will yourself or else it'd just be a half-baked copy of my Will that I transplanted to you.  I do offer readings designed to help you develop in this way, but you have to do the work yourself.

Alright, just will you tell me if my boyfriend will come back? Or what'll happen if I reach out to my crush?  Or what's next for me in love?

I'm glad to ask!  Just realize that when you approach my table the most present energy will be your own, so you'll tend to get the answer that's most helpful to you, not necessarily the one you asked for.

Will you tell me if I can get the job?

Also glad to read for this!  The same limitations apply here as do in the relationship conversation -- remember Tarot enhances your own agency, not replaces it.

Will it tell me if someone cursed me or if I'm under a hex?

Even in a non-metaphysical way, determining what we need to improve or repair is one of the great strengths of Tarot.

OK but will getting a reading curse me?  Someone told me you can get possessed by a demon because of  Tarot.

The primary mechanism of curses is psychological, so not unless you believe what you're doing deserves being cursed.  To this point, if you hold strongly to a personal practice that prohibits divination (sorry Baptists) I don't recommend you purchase my services.  That said, my respect for personal agency dictates that I don't turn anyone away out of hand (unless your payment doesn't authorize or our working relationship otherwise proves detrimental).

The idea of possession is largely Hollywood conjecture, but there are rare cases of even the most benign meditative practices triggering mental illness.  Do not, therefore, get a reading if you have schizophrenia or psychosis, but you won't get either of these things from a reading.

Actually, about the Baptist point -- should Christians do this?

Yeah surprisingly this comes up a lot, especially for clients in the states.  The short answer is it's your call based on your situation.  The long answer is there are old-testament prohibitions against divination primarily in the context of mediumship and spirit work, but also allusions to King David's scrying cup without any reference to that being considered a sin.  For new-testament gentiles, Paul's prime directive was to abstain from food offered to idols -- a form of invocation.

Though some readers do, I don't summon spirit guides in my readings, invoke any deities, or personify the cards any more than I personify the car I drive.  Arguably, this makes my practice palpable for a born-again Christian.  Practically, most pastors will still take issue if you tell them about it.

Ok but I'm [insert religion or religious sect here].  Will you read for me?

As alluded to above, my offers are only contingent on you providing good payment.

Where do you come from?

Florida, but I moved.

I mean, where are you from like "from" from.

My gifts were noted by a local faith healer when I was too young to remember.  There are Freemasons, intercessors, and other ne'er-do-wells in my bloodline as far back as I can tell.  Bluntly, I don't think this matters except that an inordinately large amount of time inside churches has given me a keen eye for sorting actionable advice from grift.

What traditions do you read Tarot in?

I read Tarot from an archetypical perspective with a good dose of western esotericism, dream interpretation, and chaos magick.
